Sorry about the recent theme galore on this site. I’ve just updated my wordpress to the lates version and my old template does not support it. So while helplessly shocked and unprepared by the the outcome im struggling to find a new template. Finally  this is what im willing to have for awhile (until I found something I really like).

Wordpress.org releases 2.2.1 and im using an outdated version.. An upgrade is necessary but im too lazy!!! Arghhh.. maybe I should do some renovations coz this sidebar >>>> is getting cluttered and my categories listing sucks. So might as well give it another refreshing upgrade. At first I thought I might as well change the theme but after a lot of thinking, i might just need to change the header image or something. (since looking for a decent theme is a pain in the a$$) btw I found a nice theme here (the theme I would use if K2 broke with the new wordpress)

After the upgrade, as you guys might have guessed, K2 template broke. So this is my new look thanks to NDesign Studio. I changed the background to a batik pattern in conjunction with our 50th anniversary. Merdeka!! Beside some minor hiccups, the upgrade is smooth and quick. The color goes well with my favorite color (light blue) so i’m very satisfied with the color scheme. Improve some ads placement so it wont disturb you much. Next, I need to re implement some ajax and custom javascript from K2 to give back the web2.0 feel and add more local element to the design(i’m in love with batik). So while i’m on it, if you have any suggestions please leave a comment.

This post is written using the nice and shiny Windows Live Writer (beta) by Microsoft. Setting it up was very simple and easy. If live writer can deliver my text, I might as well stick to it. Ok and heres the stuff that expanzee tagged me recently.

1. Webmaster, designer. -Girl, (girl are better at managing sites, they are punctual, sensitive and send better email replies) Dip or Deg. Fresh graduate is fine. Knowledge xhtml, css, and some graphics. Php and Sql knowledge will help a lot. I love ppl who love Open Source
2. Graphic. -Men or women, Deg or Dip in graphic or related. Working experience is a plus. Knowledge in: Photoshop, Illustrator, Quarkxpress. InDesign is a plus but if you don’t have it we have study materials for you.

I’ve gotta stop upgrading and changing themes as frequent as this to avoid hysteria among my readers. Still, WordPress 2.3 is too hard to resist! >.< which also proves that I’m such a geek(correct me if I’m wrong). The best part about 2.3 is its tagging system. It will be a great function and will definitely break some themes and plugins. Thankfully WordPress 2.3 includes a sexy plugin update notifier to cover that up. How about themes guys?

The theme I’m using now is a my modified version Black Minimalism 2.0 by cinexl.net. The theme was originally built on K2 and optimized with Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin to deliver the tags. The best part is, it is Widget-Ready unlike any other version or variation of K2(K2 have their own widget-like function and i personally think its better that the Widget). Hacking the theme to work for WordPress 2.3 wasn’t that hard given their original support for tags. (more…)

Just when I’m thinking of switching over to Drupal, WordPress 2.5 released. When I upgrade to 2.3, the whole world changes. Plugins start breaking, themes getting messed up. A lot of things have to be done to fix everything up. But 2.5 update is amazingly fast and simple, well some of my plugins break but still, I now have the power of 1 click update to easily keep up. The admin interface is very sexy and intuitive. But best of all, I don’t have to change or fix my theme, like when I did on 2.3

Some lovable features(for me at least):

• Batch image upload.
• Image Gallery built in.(I might dump my Gallery2 install)
• Exif extract.
• Better visual editor

I won’t remove my gallery section for now, or at least until the community release some awesome plugins for it. So for U guys who still stuck on Blogger, or any other hosted blog(except WordPress.com). You’ve missed the best part of blogging pal.

p/s: i wonder if they support Galleries on hosted WordPress.com
